Any French speakers...  
My daughter is MIA, not answering my texts, of course she could be at work unable to answer, but I just need to confirm:
 
Maman in French, is this the equivalent of Mommy as a younger child would address their mother? Or am I looking for a different word choice?

Yes, that's right. You'll rarely hear anyone call their mom "mère", not just children. It sounds too formal. Just like how most people don't refer to their mom's as "Mother" if that makes sense?

A small child would usually use "Maman" or "Mama". Both are correct.

Thanks so much! I'm sure my daughter will answer me eventually, but I could be waiting for days in some instances so figured may as well go elsewhere.
